This is to be expected, considering all the problems that Toyota is currently facing.

considering the unemployment, I'm sure that there's a lot of folks who buy used cars right now who should not be extended credit. At this point, I'm waiting for that other shoe to drop... House prices have already been topsy turvy, now the rest of the economy will need to follow..

I'm sure that most people will fear about buying Toyota right now. However, common sense is so badly lost, I won't say 'nudda word on it. At least for the moment...

With the continued devaluation of the USA dollar this is to be expected. The more money BHO prints, the higher will go prices.

that's funny-the unemployment rate in north carolina is "hovering" at 11%, and we are 8th in the nation in unemployment, so keep raising them prices boys..and we will keep driving our clunkers forever..

I think new cars are awesome! Personally, I hate purchasing a vehicle and having to repair something rather expensive/major within the first year getting it! Honestly, a car is an immediate depreciation no matter how nice, what type, et cetera and so on... Conversely, a house is an immediate appreciation of one's funds. Thus, priorities must always be clearly defined and recognized. I'd say if a good deal was chasing you down, and it is your time to purchase a new (used) vehicle....Then go for it! To each his own.

You can't expect to sell a lot of new cars to a populace with no jobs!

Who is buying all these vehicles? There are a lot of people out of work, and those finding jobs get paid much less.

I know the chances are low of getting Toyota with this problem, but I don't have good luck gambling and I'm sure not going to do that with a car...no matter how low they discount it...there are lots of other alternatives out there that are just as good as a Toyota.

Folks are not going to commit to debts when economy is in the dumps. They are not buying new cars. It is the old Great Depression mind set raising it's head again. Hang on to your coat wire hangers as grandma did in the 1930s you may need them!!!!

So what, let's all just keep borrowing more and more for bloated, over-priced vehicles... this country is going down the tubes, anyway.

People will buy Toyota because they know they build a good car. Once the problem is completely fixed, Toyota will rise again.

Now's a good time to buy a Toyota that's not on the recall list. Let's see, there's the Toyota Yaris, FJ Cruiser and 4Runner....hey, oh what a feeling of a short list!

I'd buy a Toyota, especially now. Since I don't live in California, I shouldn't have a problem ;)
Seriously, now is a good time to bargain hunt. They'll find the problem and fix it.

Doesn't surprise me at all. No demand for new cars so people are gonna make more off of used cars.

Reglar working people jsut cannot afford new vehicles as they are priced today. The greater the demand for used vehicles, the higher we will see the averge price.

Nobody knows better than Toyota that they have to sell cars almost any way they can. This will be the penalty for forgetting who can ruin you. Hey Toyota, its the public.

The cost of New Cars are still too high even with the current offers they are offering! So people are buying used...plus people that are not working or are working at a lower wage are now not able to buy these new expensive vehicles!
Only the rich can buy new vehicles! & the Rich don't want these cheap vehicles, they want the luxury sport vehicles...none of these mass produced vehicles!
